What if our competitors . . . . .

  Question: How can we anticipate competitive actions and what tactics should we consider?  What should we look for?  What happens if we do nothing?  Should we be doing something right now or in the near future as a defensive move?
  Methods: Large group session conducted with high-level company executives
  Response: We conducted a day long work session with the key executives who were considered to be the “braintrust” of a particular business area.  The process included whole group brainstorming; small group discussions focusing on specific potential competitive threats; and group consensus on prioritizing potential threats and counter tactics.
  Impact: The discussion of potential competitive threats and associated defensive moves resulted in a list of signs to watch for and potential tactics to “keep on the shelf” and readily available for reference in the event of such competitive activity.
